The Route

Starting from Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego all the way to Prudhoe Bay in Alaska. Here below you will find the entire track. I will pass through the following countries Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, USA and Canada).

1) Ushuaia to San Martin de los Andes, 2900 KM (Rio Grande, Punta Espora, Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine, El Calafate, El Bolson, Bariloche), via:

From here, our epic journey begins! We’ll start bright and early on January 1st (after a cheeky 2019 New Year's toast or two), from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, also known as Fin del Mundo, although it’ll be just the beginning for us! The initial leg of the journey will move through Rio Grande, Punta Espora, Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine, El Calafate, El Bolson, Bariloche, until we finally (but not really) make it to San Martin de los Andes.

2) San Martín de los Andes to San Pedro de Atacama, 3300 KM (Neuquen, Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, Catamarca, Tucuman, Salta, Jujuy), via:

Mendoza - San Juan - Cafayate - Purmamarca - Tilcara - Humauaca - La Quiaca - Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos

3) San Pedro de Atacama to Lima, 2800 KM (Pozo Almonte, Tacna, Arequipa, Marcabamba, Chala, Atiquipa, Nazca, Ica, Pisco), via:

4) Lima to Turbo, 4000 KM (Chimbote, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Macara, Cuenca, Quito, Ipiales, Cali, Medellin), via:

5) Panama City to El Amatillo, 1600 KM (La Chorrera, Santiago, David, Palmar Norte, Cartago, San José, Liberia, Peñas Blancas, Managua, Esteli, Choluteca), via:

6) El Amatillo to La Mesilla, 900 KM (San Miguel, San Martin, San Salvador, Santa Tecla, Santa Ana, Guatemala City), via:

7) La Mesilla to Laredo, 2500 KM (Chiapas, Oaxaca, Puebla, Estado de Mexico, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon), via:

Tuxtla Gutierrez - Oaxaca de Juarez - Ciudad de Puebla - Mexico DF - Actopan - Ciudad Victoria - Monterrey

8) Laredo to Kingman 3500 KM (Mexican border, Laredo, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Nevada), via:

Texas (Corpus Christi - San Antonio - Lubbock) - New Mexico (Santa Fe - Tierra Amarilla) - Colorado (Durango - Mesa Verde National Park) - Red Mesa - Mexican Water - Kayenta, AZ - Mexican Hat - White Mesa - Moab - Arches National Park - Green River - Boulder - Escalante - Bryce Canyon National Park - Hatch, UT - Fredonia, AZ - Grand Canyon National Park

9) Kingman to San Francisco, 1350 KM (Arizona, Nevada, California), via:

Nevada (Mountain Springs - Las Vegas) - California (Sacramento - Groveland - Benton - Yosemite National Park - Big Pine - Daylight Pass - Sequoia National Park - Death Valley National Park - Badwater)

 

10) San Francisco to Gardiner, 2700 KM (California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana), via:

California (McCloud, Grenada, Eureka) - Nevada (Oasis, Wells, Paradise Valley) - Jackson, WY, Salt Lake City, UT - Yellowstone National Park - Grand Teton National Park

11) Gardiner to Babb, 3000 KM (Idaho, Washington, Oregon), via:

Livingston - Great Falls - Missoula - Kennewick - Beaverton - Portland - Seattle - North Cascades National Park - Kanisku National Forest - Kootenai National Forest - Glacier National Park.

12) Babb to Deadhorse, 4200 KM

And finally, by the Grace of Mother Nature, we will end up in Deadhorse, Alaska, thus marking the end of this chapter (for now)! Boy, what a journey it’s been! We literally started at the End of the Earth, we've tested every physical & mental parallel known to man, worn out countless number of shoes and through blood, sweat & tears, we made it! And, now it’s time to put our feet up (no pun intended) for a cold beer and a big bowl of rest & recuperation, Alaskan style!
